Aegis supported project controls and scheduling for the $18 million construction of a new 160-foot Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT). The project included drilled shaft foundations, structural brace frames, fire protection and detection systems, emergency power, FAA control cab systems, office spaces, elevator and access control systems, HVAC and plumbing infrastructure, and parking areas, access roads, fencing, and related site improvements. Aegis helped coordinate the delivery of these complex building and infrastructure components while maintaining visibility into critical milestones and project risks. After commissioning the new tower, the project also included demolishing the existing 93-foot ATCT.

San Luis Obispo 46 Cholame Segment

It will provide a direct connection to the Metrorail Red Line at Bethesda and Silver Spring, the Green Line at College Park, and the Orange Line at New Carrollton, as well as all three of the MARC rail lines and Amtrack’s Northeast Corridor at New Carrollton. This project will serve the existing dense residential neighborhoods, attractions, and employment and education centers by providing faster, more direct, and more reliable service.

Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project – Phase 2

The construction of the 11.4-mile "Silver Line" extension, consisting of six stations along 11.4 miles extending from Wiehle-Reston Station to Ashburn, connected Dulles International Airport to downtown Washington. Aegis worked on phase two of the project, providing on-site staff to oversee project controls, including scheduling, cost, and risk management. This complicated project, valued at $1.2 billion, includes multiple aspects of construction, such as building rail lines, metro stations, commuter parking, and bus stations, including at-grade and elevated guideways. The project schedule also included detailed activities for design, right of way, permits, civil, track, structures, facilities (stations and pavilions), and systems & commissioning.
