National Museum of African American History and Culture
Aegis developed and managed the project controls system for the fast-track design and construction of the National Museum of African American History and Culture. As part of its scope, Aegis provided schedule development and management, as well as risk management services, to support project delivery. The 350,000-square-foot museum featured five aboveground and five underground stories, incorporated state-of-the-art exhibit technology, and included a complex exterior envelope consisting of an elaborate curtain wall and metal panel system. The project was delivered on a $300 million budget and encompassed 350,000 square feet of space.

Aegis Project Controls was previously engaged on this state-of-the-art $5 billion construction project built on a 175-acre parcel. Aegis took over all aspects of project controls and, within a 60-day period, produced schedules and cost and resource data that were used as the basis to complete this state-of-the-art complex. Aegis’ risk management efforts were used daily to identify and overcome any potential pitfalls.
