unparalleled experience
With more than 6,000 projects completed for many of the nation’s largest owners, developers, and construction companies, the depth and breadth of our project controls experience is unparalleled.

Conococheague WWTP
During the Conococheague WWTP project, the site had to remain operational during construction as well as having a complex Maintenance of Plant Operations (MOPO)
Aegis worked with the GC to develop a detailed schedule that was occasionally tracked into one-day tasks. Additionally, the GC and Aegis implemented a daily update plan, which resulted in the project finishing a month early.

Cannon House Office Building
This ten-year, five-phase project will update and renovate the oldest congressional building in the nation. It will update all aspects of the structure, including mechanical, electrical, life safety, structural, and exterior systems. The building will be occupied throughout the renovation process. Aegis is providing full-time project controls services throughout the duration of the project to manage the schedule, costs, and risks.

Intel Chip Plant
Aegis was hired to provide project controls services to Intel’s new chip plant in Oregon, which includes roughly 1 million square feet of space and interconnects four major sections of the campus. Working with state-of-the-art technology, very tight deadlines, and highly technical construction, Aegis kept the extensive schedule on track for this $3 billion project.

State Route 91
For State Route 91, the challenge was to manage the design, permitting, utility relocation, ROW acquisition, railway interfaces, and construction to widen one of the busiest freeways and interchanges in the nation through a heavily populated area while maiming traffic. Further, we had to demonstrate and quantify an array of impacts on the project, ranging from intermittent interruptions to massive changes in allowable work windows, differing site conditions, and wildlife interfaces.
We created and updated a cost and resource-loaded master schedule for long-term planning, billing, and impact analysis. We also made a short-term look-ahead schedule for day-to-day resource and workforce planning. We demonstrated the extent of several impacts on the project. We negotiated global settlements with RCTC while finishing the project several months earlier than the original program schedule and model contemplated completion.

Capitol Crossing
This project's location in downtown DC presented a logistical challenge. Additionally, multiple projects occurred on site, including the highway expansion, garage construction, and high-rise buildings.
Aegis created detailed handoff points in the schedule between the multiple projects and worked closely with the teams to ensure on-time delivery for the project.

University of Kentucky Research Building 2
Aegis has partnered with Whiting-Turner to perform project controls services on the University of Kentucky's 306,000 gross square foot science research facility. This facility will provide state-of-the-art research space for health sciences, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, psychology, biomedical engineering, nutrition, and nanotechnology. This project, valued at $265 million, will be one of the elite research facilities in the United States.

Hecht’s Warehouse at Ivy City
Multiple design revisions prevented the general contractor from completing work in the units, lobby, and retail space at Hecht's Warehouse at Ivy City.
Aegis worked with the general contractor to develop a detailed schedule that allowed the GC to progress the work that was unimpacted by changes and allowed them to closely monitor the areas impacted by the design changes.

The Hotel at the University of Maryland
During its lifecycle, the project encountered design issues, permitting issues, and procurement delays, which delayed the opening of the Hotel and Conference Center.
Aegis met with the owner to establish a weekly site walk in lieu of a monthly site walk and to involve the subcontractors in the update meetings. Moving forward, critical path activities were completed on time.

Inova Women and Children’s Hospital
The challenge was to install new utilities and a new structure on a crowded campus and deliver the project early. Significantly, the electrical subcontractor went bankrupt during the start of the MEPS fit-out stage.
We created a detailed CPM schedule that was managed on a short-term basis using a Short-Interval (SIPS) schedule on a day-to-day basis. We helped Clark Construction deliver the project earlier than anticipated and won E&R’s Healthcare Award of Merit for Best Healthcare Project.

East Market
National Real Estate Development developed 4.3 acres in downtown Philadelphia, connecting Midtown Village with the business and convention district along Market Street. This $600 million master plan was implemented in phases over the next five years in the prime Center City location.
Aegis has partnered with National Real Estate Development to perform project controls services on the project. Aegis has assisted with the overall master planning and ongoing risk management during construction.

Patapsco WWTP Upgrades
Aegis provided CPM scheduling services for the Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. for upgrades to the Patapsco WWTP. The work involved replacing roofs at multiple facilities and converting the chlorination/de-chlorination facility.
