unparalleled experience
With more than 4,000 projects completed for many of the nation’s largest owners, developers, and construction companies, the depth and breadth of our project controls experience is unparalleled.

Martinsburg Wastewater Treatment Plant
Aegis provided CPM scheduling and Risk Management services for the development, maintenance, and cost for HRI Inc., of State College, PA. The project consisted of constructing and renovating the City of Martinsburg wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in West Virginia, with an estimated value of $47 million and a project duration of 927 calendar days.

Reagan National Airport
Turner retained Aegis to provide multifaceted project controls support for a $1 billion multi-phase program at Reagan National Airport. This project includes relocating security screening from the national hall to the arrival level. The program will also include a commuter concourse on the airport’s north side, road improvements, and a new parking garage. Executive offices and two hangars will be leveled to make room for the new concourse.

UMD Medical Center – Shock Trauma
The Aegis Companies was part of the Shock Trauma team from the design phase's inception through the construction of this 9-floor, 140,000-square-foot Critical Care Tower. The project included 10 state-of-the-art operating rooms, 64 private ICU rooms, and support areas, including a new helipad capable of holding Marine One.

The Boro – Tyson’s Corner
This was a “fast track” project with an aggressive Substantial Completion date. Additionally, the site was shared with another General Contractor, creating logistical challenges for the project. Aegis implemented Bi-Weekly updates and continually reviewed the schedule to implement changes to the program to overcome the logistical challenges.

National Geospatial Intelligence Agency
The Aegis Companies provided CPM scheduling services to construct 2.4 million square feet of administrative and support space, including a central utility plant, technology center, visitor center, main administrative building, infrastructure, and site work. Aegis’ services included schedule development and management, payment application services, earned value management, and risk mitigation. Aegis provided full-time staff for the duration of the project.

John’s Hopkins Baltimore
Aegis provided scheduling and dispute resolution services for Whiting-Turner as they built a series of projects for Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD. These projects included renovating the nine-story Nelson/Harvey building in downtown Baltimore - which was awarded the ACI excellence award - and the new Pediatric Center at the Hopkins Bayview Campus. Both projects had to plan and schedule around active patient care facilities, live utility relocations, and unknown subsurface conditions.

Penn State – Chemical & Biomedical Engineering Building
Barton Malow Construction retained the Aegis Companies to provide project controls services for the new $150 million College of Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering building at Penn State University. This 194,500-square-foot facility will house new faculty, staff, and administration offices, specialized chemical laboratories, and collaborative student spaces.

LAX – Midfield Satellite Concourse
This project was a complete renovation and reconstruction of a major terminal in one of the world's busiest, most congested airports. All of this work happens in conjunction with an array of other projects, including nearly $6 billion worth of work that is a part of the LAX LAMP (Land-Access-Modernization-Program)
We worked diligently with the general contractors, subcontractors, LAX, the designers, neighboring projects, and various other stakeholders to plan and execute the work. This plan had to be regularly updated and maintained to ensure it considered all necessary aspects of construction and kept all stakeholders informed about the current plan.

National Museum of the United States Army
Aegis implemented a weekly scheduling and coordination meeting with the subcontractors. Critical items were reviewed live with the subcontractors, which resulted in the subcontractors taking ownership of the work, which in turn helped the project trend to early completion.

Prettyboy Reservoir Dam Gatehouse Facility
The project faced multiple procurement issues, which pushed it from the summer months into the winter months. During this time frame, the dam froze, which prevented W-T from accessing the isolation valves. Aegis assisted the team by developing a time impact analysis, which resulted in multiple project extensions.

Intelligence Community Campus – Bethesda
Aegis Project Controls provided complete project controls services for this $300 million campus-type project in Bethesda, Maryland. The project included the construction of a four-story center and renovating the existing buildings. This project will eventually house 3,000 intelligence workers in a 660,000+ square feet campus.

City Center DC
The Challenge:
Develop a comprehensive construction plan for over 2 million square feet of high-end residential, office and retail space. The project included six towers on a shared concrete podium and included the completion of 10th street through the middle of the site.
Our Solution:
Aegis provided our full range of core services from the initiation of the project through completion. We were critical in determining the standards that kept this massively complex project on time.
