Aegis provided CPM scheduling and risk management services for HRI Inc. on the $47 million construction and renovation of the City of Martinsburg Wastewater Treatment Plant in West Virginia. The project involved upgrades and expansions to the existing treatment facility over a 927-day construction period. Aegis supported schedule development, maintenance, and cost-related project controls activities, helping the team manage project risks and maintain visibility into performance throughout execution.

Aegis provided multifaceted project controls support for Turner's $1 billion, multiphase modernization program at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The program included relocating security screening from the National Hall to the arrivals level, constructing a new commuter concourse on the airport's north side, implementing roadway improvements, and building a new parking garage. To accommodate the expansion, the team demolished existing executive offices and two hangars. Aegis supported project planning, scheduling, and program coordination to help manage the complexities of delivering major infrastructure improvements within an active airport environment.

Aegis provided project controls services for the $160 million Shock Trauma Critical Care Tower from design inception through construction. The 140,000-square-foot, nine-story facility included 10 state-of-the-art operating rooms, 64 private intensive care unit rooms, and supporting clinical spaces. As part of the project team, Aegis supported planning and execution efforts that helped deliver the new tower, which also featured a helipad capable of accommodating Marine One.

Aegis provided project controls and scheduling services for the $800 million fast-track project, governed by an aggressive substantial completion milestone and shared with another general contractor on site. To address complex logistical and coordination challenges, Aegis implemented biweekly schedule updates and continuously analyzed project progress, adjusting the execution plan as conditions evolved. This proactive approach helped the project team mitigate impacts, improve coordination, and maintain progress toward critical delivery milestones.

Aegis provided CPM scheduling and project controls services for the $1.46 billion construction program, which delivered 2.4 million square feet of administrative and support facilities. The development included a central utility plant, technology center, visitor center, main administrative building, supporting infrastructure, and extensive site work. Aegis' scope included schedule development and management, payment application review, earned value management, and risk mitigation. To support project delivery, Aegis provided full-time project controls staff throughout the program.

Aegis provided scheduling and dispute resolution services for Whiting-Turner on multiple Johns Hopkins projects in Baltimore, Maryland, including the renovation of the nine-story Nelson/Harvey Building and construction of the Pediatric Center at the Johns Hopkins Bayview campus. The Nelson/Harvey renovation earned an American Concrete Institute Excellence Award. Aegis supported project planning, scheduling, and issue resolution for both projects, helping the team navigate challenges in active patient care environments, live utility relocations, and unforeseen subsurface conditions.

Aegis provided project controls services for the $150 million College of Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering building at Penn State University. Supporting Barton Malow Construction, Aegis helped manage project planning and execution for the 195,000-square-foot facility, which included faculty, staff and administrative offices, specialized chemical laboratories and collaborative student spaces designed to support education and research activities.

Aegis provided project controls and schedule coordination services for the $1.2 billion renovation and reconstruction of a major terminal at one of the world's busiest airports. Working alongside concurrent capital improvement projects, including those associated with the LAX Landside Access Modernization Program, Aegis collaborated with contractors, designers, airport stakeholders, and adjacent project teams to develop and maintain integrated construction plans. Through ongoing coordination and schedule updates, Aegis aligned project activities, managed construction impacts, and kept stakeholders informed throughout execution.

Aegis implemented and facilitated weekly scheduling and coordination meetings with subcontractors to improve project alignment and execution. During these sessions, the team reviewed critical activities and constraints in real time, fostering greater accountability and ownership among trade partners. This collaborative approach improved coordination across the project team and helped position the project for early completion. The project was delivered within a $250 million budget.

Aegis supported the project team in addressing major procurement challenges that delayed work from summer into winter. As a result, freezing conditions prevented the contractor from accessing critical isolation valves at the dam. To evaluate schedule impacts and support entitlement discussions, Aegis developed a time impact analysis that quantified the effects of the delays and helped secure approval for multiple schedule extensions.

Aegis provided comprehensive project controls services for a $300 million campus development in Bethesda, Maryland. The project included construction of a new four-story center and renovations to existing facilities as part of a broader campus modernization effort. Aegis supported project planning and execution to help manage cost, schedule, and performance objectives. Upon completion, the campus was designed to accommodate approximately 3,000 intelligence personnel within more than 660,000 square feet of space.

The Challenge:
Develop a comprehensive construction plan for over 2 million square feet of high-end residential, office and retail space. The project included six towers on a shared concrete podium and included the completion of 10th street through the middle of the site.
