Uncover productivity loss with hybrid earned value analysis

Estimating productivity loss in construction poses challenges due to limited records from contractors and subcontractors. The widely accepted measured mile (MM) method becomes nearly impossible without sufficient data. An alternative, earned value analysis (EVA), relies on planned values. In “Unlocking Productivity Insights in Construction: A Hybrid Approach,” Mid-Atlantic President Russell Wodiska analyzes the benefits of a hybrid EVA—an approach blending traditional productivity-loss methods with MM goals. By allowing analysts to compare productivity during unimpacted and impacted periods, hybrid EVA allows forensic analysts to overcome the challenge of incomplete record-keeping on projects.
