Clean Water Partnership


Prince Georges County, Maryland

Aegis Analytics – a signature tech product created by Aegis for executive management of construction projects – played a key role in helping Prince Georges County, MD implement green water management. The challenge: retrofit 2,000 acres of storm water management systems with green infrastructure and add 15,000 acres of green water management. Prince Georges County collaborated with Corvias Solutions on this program, which encompasses thousands of individual construction projects and is valued at over $100 million per year. Using its Aegis Analytics, Aegis manages every element of the project through its comprehensive dashboard. Aegis Analytics is used to monitor the schedule, cash flow, acreage treated and provides a real time bid board for contractors throughout the state.

Long Beach Civic Center

This massive project will create a new city hall, library, public park, retail market, office space and residential living for the residents of Long Beach, CA. Encompassing over two city blocks, Aegis is creating a project controls master plan to keep the many parts of this $500 million project on time and on budget. Aegis is also providing ongoing scheduling and risk management services throughout the life of the project.

University of Kentucky Research Building 2

Aegis has partnered with Whiting-Turner to perform project controls services on this 306,000 gross square feet science research facility at the University of Kentucky. This facility will provide state-of-the-art research space for health sciences, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, psychology, bio-medical engineering, nutrition, and nanotechnology. This project, valued at $265 million, will be one of the elite research facilities in the United States.

East Coast Detention Center

Aegis is implementing all aspects of project controls, including scheduling, cost management and risk management, on this project, which will expand and replace the existing Indio County jail and Riverside sheriff department. The East County Detention Center is a 500,000 square-foot structure being constructed in two phases – a three story support building in the first phase and a four story security structure in the second phase. This project will create 1,626 beds at a cost of roughly $275 million.

Capitol Crossing

Washington, DC

Aegis is partnering with Balfour-Beatty to implement CPM scheduling throughout the duration of the Capitol Crossing project, which will be one of the largest revitalization projects in the nation’s capital. Estimated at $1.3 billion, this project will require the construction of a platform above a portion of one of the city’s largest roadways, Interstate 395. The work also includes the relocation of a 250-year-old synagogue to allow for the construction of five retail, commercial and residential towers.

Aegis is providing CPM scheduling in support of The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company for this $199 million project. This project will add three levels atop two existing eight-story wings. The project also includes installation of two exterior elevator banks, an eight-phase renovation of 18 operating rooms, ICU relocation, and expansion and improvements to the emergency department and trauma center.

One Light Street

Aegis is proud to provide CPM scheduling support to Donohoe Construction Company on this significant project that has been planned, designed, and revised over the last three decades. Set in downtown Baltimore, One Light Street’s 28 floors will comprise ten floors of residential space (280 units) and nine floors of office space – including six floors committed to M&T Bank – all sitting atop 646 parking spaces.

State Route 91

Working in conjunction with Atkinson/Walsh to improve California’s State Route 91 between Los Angeles and San Diego, Aegis is currently providing a full range of project controls services and on-site staff. The $632 million project will improve one of the most congested highways in America by adding regular lanes, tolled express lanes, auxiliary lanes and direct express lane connectors from the northbound 15 to the westbound 91 and from the eastbound 91 to the southbound 15.

National Museum-of-African-American History and Culture

National Museum of African American History and Culture

The first national museum dedicated to African American history and culture opens September 2016 to the public, and Aegis provided project controls to the construction team – a joint venture from Clark Construction, Smoot Construction and H.J. Russell & Company. The team brought in Aegis Project Controls before the project started in 2012 to help it run seamlessly from day one. This was an incredibly complex $300 million project with a host of challenges, including deep excavation and foundation redesign. We worked closely with the construction team and the Smithsonian to contribute extensive project controls, including risk management services, CPM scheduling and cost management.

Fort Bliss Replacement Hospital

Aegis worked closely with Clark McCarthy Healthcare Partners II to develop the project controls system for a new 1,132,000 square foot medical campus for the U.S. Army. This project consists of in-patient and out-patient medical care, clinical investigation, BSL-3 laboratories, ancillary support, support spaces, central energy plant, helipad, water storage tank, electrical sub-station and access control facility.

On this ongoing $648 million project, Aegis created the initial project schedule, monthly updates, payment applications and change management. Through our risk management work, we assist with the identification of ongoing issues and create mitigation strategies. Aegis personnel routinely visit the site, and work closely with the project team.

CityCenterDC


Washington, DC

Encompassing two city blocks, the just completed $900 million CityCenterDC project in Washington, DC was a complex CPM scheduling project. The project included scheduling for retail, residential and commercial space over 10 acres in the heart of our nation’s capital. Aegis staff worked closely with Clark Construction’s team throughout the project on this complex project. In addition, Aegis was 100 percent successful in its risk management program by defending several claims and successfully submitting and negotiating large disputes during the life span of the project.

Undergraduate Teaching Laboratories

Undergraduate Teaching Laboratories at Johns Hopkins University

Working with Whiting-Turner at the famed Johns Hopkins University campus, Aegis created and managed all CPM scheduling for new undergraduate teaching laboratories. This project is indicative of the significant experience Aegis has with education facilities, which are unique to the construction industry because of their strict deadlines and wide array of uses within the facility. This project includes teaching labs, research labs, and vivarium space for the University’s biology department

Intel Chip Plant

Balfour Beatty turned to Aegis for scheduling services at Intel’s new chip plant in Oregon, which includes roughly 1 million square feet of space and interconnects four major sections of the campus. Working with state of the art technology, very tight deadlines and highly technical construction, Aegis was able to keep the extensive schedule on track. Partnering with Balfour Beatty on this approximately $3 billion project, Aegis created the baseline schedule and managed monthly schedule consultations.

The Consolidated Forensic Laboratory

Aegis partnered with Whiting-Turner to provide CPM scheduling and risk management services for the creation of a new 351,000 square foot state-of-the-art consolidated forensic laboratory. Built for the government of the District of Columbia, this $218 million project included design, construction, construction management, scientific equipment, commissioning and relocation. Completed on-time and on-budget, project controls work by Aegis was a key component of this project.

Utah Data Center

Working closely with Balfour Beatty, DPR and Big-D on a project for the US Army Corps of Engineers to build a first-of-its-kind data center and complete campus, Aegis provided a full array of project controls services from CPM scheduling to cost and risk management, as well as assist with the project close-out. Aegis successfully negotiated all structural time related issues with the USACE.

This one-million 1,000,000 square foot data center, technical support and administrative space also includes a water treatment facility, electrical substations, a vehicle inspection facility, interim visitor control center, perimeter site security measures, fuel storage, water storage, chiller plant, fire suppression systems and electrical generator and UPS backups. The budgeted cost of the project was $1.6 billion.

The construction of a 11.4 mile extension to the existing Washington metro system will connect Dulles International Airport to downtown Washington. Aegis is currently working on Phase 2 of the project, providing on-site staff to oversee project controls, including scheduling, cost and risk management. This complicated project includes multiple aspects of construction to build rail lines, metro station, commuter parking and bus stations. Aegis is working with Capital Rail Constructors on this $1.178 billion project, scheduled to be completed in 2018.

Aegis Project Controls helped Standard Solar — a leader in the solar electric system industry – develop and implement its internal project controls. The creation of a company-wide internal project controls plan included drafting rules of engagement and guidelines for CPM scheduling on Primavera, which we installed and maintain through Aegis Cloud. Aegis trained staff, from project executives to superintendents, on Primavera and CPM scheduling.
